Apparently not, is the answer. For the 1964 Cadillac hearse that transported the body of John F Kennedy in Dallas after his assassination has been up for sale on eBay for some time for $1.5 million but there have been no takers.

There was a bid for the hearse in 2007 for $900,000 ; one that funeral home director Vernon O’ Neal turned down and asked for at least a million. It was later put up for auction in 2009 but only got a bid of $165,000 which was again turned down.

Since then, the hearse has been listed on eBay for $1.5 million but there have been no bids. The hearse is now being put up on auction with no minimum reserve. The first titled owner was O’Neal Funeral Home, the second owner was Arrdeen Vaughan and he has owned the car for over 40 years. The current owner has the titles and deeds necessary to prove ownership and has put it up for sale.

The Cadillac had been purchased by Vernon O ‘Neal just a month before the assassination. It was used to transport President Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy from Parkland Memorial Hospital to the airport at Love Field. With the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination coming up, this may be the perfect time to sell this Caddy.
