China earns yet another world record: World’s biggest pearl ever
China has yet another achievement to boast about. A huge six tonne Chinese pearl has been unearthed from the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia. Of course, you girls can’t flaunt it but wait till you hear this, the pearl is a world-record and is the world’s bigeest pearl ever.
Carrying a price tag of 88 million pounds, the pearl that glows blue-green in the dark has gone on a show in Hainan, Southern China to attract buyers and also to have measurements taken for a world record bid. Standing beautifully at 5 ft., this Chinese pearl can’t obviously be shifted single-handedly. The finders of this gem took three years to give it the pearl shape. A show organiser remarked,”These pearls are very sought after in China, especially when they are this size.’ What’s more, these stones sometimes known as Chintamani, are considered to be a wish-fulfilling jewel in the Buddhist religion. So the price doesn’t really come as a surprise.
