Diamond in the Rough, the leading pioneer in the use of natural, uncut, unpolished diamonds is officially launching a bridal collection which will hit retail stores this fall. For those who love the unpolished and raw look, here’s something interesting that you should know.

Hidden deep within the earth, Rough Diamonds travel towards the surface encased in kimberlite magma from volcanic eruptions and when they reach at the earth’s surface they do not readily show themselves. It takes a search of 250 tons of ore to find one carat of Rough Diamonds. Before technology uncovered the concept of polishing the raw, amazing stones were treasured only in their natural state and were worn only by royalty-Maharajas, Kings and Queens. The firm believes that cut and faceted diamonds lose their unique identity and eventually lose that hidden beauty.
Going back to the new and exclusive bridal collection, it consists of nine solitaire ring designs and also includes natural rough diamond and micro pave diamond bands available in platinum, 18k white gold and 18k yellow gold. Because each of the rough stones has its own idiosyncratic shape each ring is hand-crafted and designed around the stone. The collection ranges from $4,500-$10,000 retail, with special pieces over $10,000 and bands starting at $2,000 retail.
