Developers have lodged plans for the 1.3billion pounds resort near Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, which will target the world’s “highest net worth individuals”. Documents submitted to Perth and Kinross Council, which will rule on the planning application, state the aim is to create “a world-class private members resort in one of Scotland’s most stunning settings. “The philosophy behind the vision for the development is to create the optimum in luxury which caters exclusively for guests who will enjoy the very finest experience.”
The resort would feature a luxury hotel, a body enhancement clinic staffed by leading surgeons, a health spa, two 18-hole golf courses and a clubhouse. There would also be leisure facilities, shops, a loch-side restaurant, concert hall and up to 98 houses. The documents state that the resort’s construction, which would take three years, would pump 241.6million pounds into the Scottish economy and create 2,200 jobs. Around 500 staff would be employed in the resort’s first year, rising to 850 after two years. It would create 28.8million pounds for the economy in its first three years after opening. It said the resort would be five-star and “above”, the level of luxury offered by firms such as Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons Hotels. “This is a unique concept design and planned execution that truly has little comparably precedent anywhere in the world,” it said. The proposals for outline planning permission are expected to go before Perth and Kinross councilors in mid-September.
