The ‘Mnemosyne’ USB Drive is similar to a puzzle where the memory is housed in the inner part of the body. Without disassembling the puzzle you will never be able to access the memory that is stored inside. And once you store your unforgettable memory there, you must assemble the cube. The company wanted to highlight the significance of precious memories with this intricate and time-consuming movement.
Mnemosyne is a cube measuring 72mm each side. It consists of 5 polished silver pieces and one black piece that is the real USB Flash Drive. The silver pieces act like ‘keys’, since every piece is different from the other, each one needs a specific slide movement to be fixed. The assembling and disassembling process is extremely complex so the object becomes a true brainteaser that rewards the people who succeed by revealing them its components. The mysterious USB Drive has been designed by Toshi Satoji and comes for a shocking 1,000,000 Yen (7400 Euros).
