• The Gold Megaphone that turns an iPhone into a Gramophone

The Megaphone is one of the most good looking accessories for the iPod or iPhone to say the least. Its one of the few iPhone docks that could be a part of the room decor while you are not using it and yet be functional enough to justify purchase. We give you the Megaphone from Italian designers Enrico Bosa and Isabella Lovero. The handmade device is actually powered by its form – it has absolutely no wires or batteries to amplify the sound of the iPod or iPhone. If you think that doesn’t make for an interesting enough conversation piece, then get this – the Megaphone even comes in a Gold version. Apparently, the ceramic megaphone in this avatar gets a gold coat applied to it by experts who later bake it at 720 degrees (Celsius) thus ensuring that the coating sticks and gets a spotless finish.

Each megaphone is crafted by artists by hand using ceramic and placed on a thin wooden frame that also plays an important role in sound amplification. The frame helps in ‘optimising the emission of sound’ according to the creators.

At nearly $800 for the Gold version and $500 for the standard versions (available in a choice of white or black colors) ; the megaphone is certainly no joke. As for how good it really is ; just check out the following video before you head on to the en&is shop to purchase one. Although, if you really have the cash and the space ; then better wait up for the release of the iNuke Boom.
