Jupiter Paddle boarding of South Florida caters to the rich and famous clientele of Palm Beach on most days. When they are not ‘paddling’ their wares ; they like to make the planet a better place.
One of the clients of Jupiter Paddle boarding is Jimmy Buffet, a guy who owns a Jimmy Lewis paddle board (which are supposedly the best in business). More importantly, he also supports the Everglades Foundation.
Jupiter Paddleboarding and Jimmy Lewis offered to donate a Stand Up Paddleboard to be auctioned at the annual gala of the Everglades Foundation. The auction was held this past Friday at the famous Palm Beach Breakers Hotel. Attendees included Kelly Slater, Jack Nicklaus, Joe Scarborough, and Dave Mathews. The package to be auctioned included a 10’6 Jimmy Lewis Cruise Control SUP, a Jimmy Lewis Kanaha Paddle designed by Quickblade, a Jimmy Lewis board bag, and an everglades eco-tour and paddle session with Jupiter Paddleboarding.
The resulting auction was intense and resulted in a price of $27,000 being paid for the entire package. While one may argue on the technicality that this does not mean the price was paid just for the board ; it would still be the most expensive paddle board by a big margin. The funds from the auction will be donated to the Everglades Foundation.
