Since the price of gold now precludes any such possibility except for billionaires, a chess set made from silver and covered in swarovski crystals should do the trick for the rest of us.

The chess set is a limited edition set made from 92.5% pure silver and weighing 1500 grams. Upto 11,500 cubic zirconia swarovski gems have been used for each set. The set has a board of 200 mm x 200 mm. Each box also comes with a pair of white gloves to ensure that the chess set gets the sort of care and attention that it deserves.

Personally, being a fan of Potter – I would rather much prefer the limited edition magical chess set from Harry Potter. Then again if your interest really lies in bling then you ought to go for the real deal (diamonds for $224,000) instead of Swarovski.
