About 24 years ago when the ageless Madonna looked every bit the diva that she does now wore this sexy corset . Its the one with the gold sequins and was worn by the super star on her 1987 Who’s That Girl world tour.
The corset was expected to sell for 4000 to 5000 pounds, but the auctioneers did not expect the kind of response that awaited them. A bidding war resulted in the corset going for a stunning 45,000 pounds ($72,000). One of the reasons for the high price was that this was Madonnas first world tour and is held dear by her fans. The same auction also saw other Madonna items being sold such as a signed copy of her risqué, 1992 Sex book which was valued at £500 – £750 ($800 – $1,200) but went for £2,000 ($3,200) and a recording of the song Simon Says with her band Emmy and the Emmys which was expected to fetch £400-£500 ($600 – $800) but made £750 ($1,216).
In total the 23 items of Madonna memorabilia made over £62,000 ($100,000).

The costume was selected by stylist and costume designer Marlene Stewart for Madonna at that time.
