We do features about the best and most luxurious hotel rooms with regularity, but we often ignore our friends down-under. As home to some of the most livable cities in the world, Australia does deserve a special mention on The Rich Times.
In true Australian style, the most expensive room in Sydney (and given that Sydney is the fashion capital of Australia, perhaps the entire continent itself) is on ‘The Rocks’. While today the area is an urban locality and tourist precinct, its antecedents are that of being a slum ruled by a local gang. Fortunately, the area has since made a turn around and is now host to hotels such as the Park Hyatt.
The most expensive room is this suite at the Park Hyatt which costs $16,000 per night and contains a a sauna/steam room, a lounge beside the giant egg-shell bathtub, a television built into the bathroom mirror and a private 24-hour butler. The entire floor can also be made private – which is what large entourages belonging to celebrities prefer. This would cost the celebrity a mere $50,000 for each night.
The suite which has an un-imaginative name of ‘The Sydney Suite’ also has a $9000 toilet that can play music (besides having a seat warmer) and allows the user views of the Harbour Bridge and Luna Park.
The suite also has floor to ceiling glass windows which give extensive beautiful views of the Sydney Harbour not to mention the world famous Opera House. Australia has no dearth of rich people living or visiting it , the Sydney suite for instance is booked out until the end of this month.
