Michael Schumacher and his Golden Helmet
If Beckham can boast of his golden boots, then Schumy can boast of his gold helmet. While there was no such precedence in history about a F1 driver getting a gold helmet , Michael Schumacher is not one who believes in following precedents as much as creating them.

Michael Schumacher Golden Helmet
A couple of months back, August 2011 to be sure, Michael celebrated his twentieth anniversary on the circuit. The 42 year old is still very much a part of the F1 races and is still a force to reckon with. Accordingly, on 28th August 2011 he was presented with this specially designed and manufactured helmet – plated with 21 carat gold.
Only 20 such helmets were made (all 1:1 replicas) and one for each of Schumacher’s years in F1. There were also cheaper replicas that were made with gold paint. Interested in getting one? Well, you could try your luck at the Schuberth Shop. I think any F1 fan who can afford oen ought to get it, after all a legend like Schumacher is only born once in a century (the man has 91 Grand Prix victories!).
The Michael Schumacher helmet is constructed from genuine materials of the finest quality including a 21-carat gold-plating. The only difference between the replica and the original helmet is the outer shell material. The shell of the helmet is made of carbon fiber, while the shell of the replica is made of fiberglass. Each helmet visor wears an original Michael Schumacher autograph. This collector’s item will be delivered with a case in carbon-look, as well as a certificate of authenticity.
In case you did not realise, this one is meant for the display only and not to be used as a real helmet for protection. Costs 6000 Euros ($8300).
