    | Posted in Drinks

A lot of us read about the premature death of Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. of Dublin which had existed for more then a 100 years. The holders of the trademark – Dr. Pepper sued this tiny company which produced this special sort of Dr. Pepper. Fans swear that this drink swears better then any other Dr. Pepper since the company used cane sugar as a sweetener instead of corn syrup. We wont go into the details here, but excessive use of corn syrup has been attributed as one of the reasons the current generation is getting obese.

To cut a long story short, the Dublin plant use to supply its drink only to regions surrounding the factory but since they lost the case in court, production has ceased. The Dublin plant produced less than 1 percent of Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s $5.6 billion in sales in 2010. Fans are hoarding existing stock and prices have reached ridiculous levels on eBay. Seen on this auction is the price of $9999 for a case of Dublin Dr. Pepper with Imperial cane sugar. It comes down to roughly $400 for a can – so we do hope that you love your cane sugar sweetened drinks ; it seems impossible to believe anyone would otherwise pay this price.
